We are raising money to buy a video baby monitor (or two!) for the University of Illinois Wildlife Clinic. During the spring and early summer the Wildlife Medical Clinic is especially busy with injured or sick baby animals. Our November/ December charitable group is the Salvation Army. All funds raised stay in the local community to help those in need. Our clinic has a red kettle for donations and was selling home made fleece items to raise funds. We raised $367.45 during the end of the year and will continue to collect donations in the kettle.
October 2015 Charity of the Month: Courage Connection
Our October charitable group is Courage Connection, formerly The Center for Women in Transition. Courage Connection provides housing and supportive services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or who are victims of domestic violence. October was also Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We were happy to raise $143.93 for Courage Connection!
July-September 2015 Charity of the Month: Champaign County Humane Society
The first charitable group we honored was the Champaign County Humane Society. They need "cat portals" to connect two cages to give cats more room and relieve stress on fearful cats. We wanted to purchase eighteen of these, making our fundraising goal $1,000 through the end of September. We were able to raise $1,010, exceeding our goal. Thanks everyone for your support!
