What Your Puppy Needs

Every puppy is an individual. Therefore, we may adjust what vaccines they need and when. Here's a general guideline for what most puppies need.

 

If a puppy will be going to a doggy social settings (such as daycare, dog park, boarding areas, or grooming) we recommend that your pup be protected against bordetella and the dog flu.

8 weeks old

  • Puppy initial check up exam
  • Distemper/Parvo complex vaccine
  • Fecal screening
  • General dewormer medicine 
  • Start heartworm and flea prevention

 

12 weeks old

  • Puppy check up exam
  • Distemper/Parvo complex vaccine
  • Fecal screening

  

16 weeks old

  • Puppy check up exam
  • Distemper/Parvo complex vaccine
  • Rabies 1 yr. vaccine
  • Fecal screening
  • Bordetella (if needed)

 

18 weeks old

  • Lepto vaccine
  • Dog flu vaccine (if needed)

 

22 weeks old

  • Lepto vaccine
  • Dog flu vaccine (if needed)

 

3-6 months old

  • Neuter or spay
  • Microchip
